Pianist Jai Jeffryes searches for new music
In Spring of 2014 I was looking for new music to play, and composer friends of mine with whom I correspond on Twitter suggested I release a call for scores. I posted this call on my website, Jeffryes.NET.
Announcing a call for scores of solo piano music
April 9, 2014
JAI JEFFRYES is a New York based classical pianist seeking new solo music for performance and recording. The purpose of the call for scores is to introduce audiences to music they have not yet heard. Submissions must be not yet commercially released on recording. It is acceptable if the music has been disseminated on the internet via YouTube, Soundcloud, personal websites, etc., as long as a commercial recording has not yet been produced. Submissions need not be works for premiere...
I announced my call on Twitter (my Twitter handle is @PnoJai), and the floodgates opened!
I had no idea what to expect. It wasn't long before I received hundreds of submissions and defined a new life's mission, to bring new music by composers you can tweet to, and even talk to, to audiences who have not heard it yet.

Tangent Shores
The mission of the Tangent Shores project is to connect new piano music and new music lovers. I program the new music I find along with traditional repertory and record and produce Tangent Shores original releases under my independent label, Steel Wig Records, Inc. I share news about the project in the Tangent Shores newsletter, Message in a Bottle.

The debut release of Tangent Shores will be fresh, exciting, and fun. It will be called Amethyst and will feature the music of talented composers both young and established.
